Opening scene of Star Trek Universe Dreadnought Era...
Opening shot, older starship bridge scene (era of Kobiashi Maru simulation). Smoke fills room circuits burn and crackle. Lights are dimmed and the red alert glow illumines the deck.
"Do it now!" Admiral Wayne Archer (Will Smith) demands.
"Sir?" Helmsman ( ) says to Captain Jada Jackson (Jada Piknett-Smith).
"I gave you a direct order, Plebe!" Archer yelled at the full Lieutenant. The meaning was if he did not follow the Admiral's order he would be busted back to first year cadet status.
"It's MY ship," Jackson intervened.
"It's MY fleet," Archer said. "Dammit! None of you would even BE here if it wasn't for Starfleet! Follow my orders!"
Jackson stood from the command chair and Helmsman Grey replied "Following orders, sir."
"All hands, brace yourselves!"
"All hands brace yourselves," Jackson repeated dutifully as the second in command. The word went over the ship wide intercom. Another salvo from the pursuing enemy ships crashing into the ships hull as the giant starship was turned toward the planets atmosphere. The curved horizon loomed across the ships main view screen.
"Hull temp increasing," tactical officer Guyers said. "Dampeners reading critical" The ship began to vibrate as the rigors of reentry enveloped the ship. Two more volleys from the attacking ships in hot pursuit.
"Engineering to bridge, the engines are about to go critical..."
"Understood." Archer said. "Maintain course and speed."
"Aye," helmsman said.
One of the attackers launched another blast, but it detonated in the atmospheric reentry cone and blew up in the face of the attacker blasting away one of his nacelles. The ship then spun out of control and blew up in the fiery reentry wash from its own wake.
"They can't fire on us now," Archer said taking the command seat. "Level off and maintain."
"Sir, the ships hull is beyond the critical..." Grey said.
Jackson stifled the strong urge to relieve Archer of command and take back her ship and hopefully save itr from this fiery hell her estranged husband lead it into.
Guyers shouted over the intercom, "The damned port nacelle is on fire! Quadrotanium cannot be put out till it burns out!"
"All personnel in port engineering section evacuate immediately! Evacuate port nacelle now now now!"
Archer said standing on his feet so that the overhead mic caught his orders.
"Main engineering section prepare to jettison entire port nacelle! Main engineering section, prepare to jettison entire port nacelle engineering section, on my mark."
Captain Jackson turned from the first officer board, "port nacelle evacuated and secured."
"Main engineering section, jettison entire port nacelle now now now!"
Several locking systems exploded and the burning nacelle peeled away from the ship.
"Compensate!" Archer said as the loss of mass to the ship sent it off course.
"Port nacelle engineering section jettisoned and clear of the ship." Grey said.
"Helm, change course course get us out of the atmosphere now now now!"
The remaining attacker swerved to dodge the burning nacelle that tumbled directly toward them, but their ship broke the reentry cone it was designed to withstand and it could not stand the intense heat of reentry and it exploded.
As the ship cleared the atmosphere reports of small fires hat broke out came in to the tactical officer. "Hull temp returning to normal."
"You may have your ship back, Captain," Archer said to his former spouse.
"What's left of it," she said.
"Walk with me, Captain." Archer said as he went to the ready room. As the doors shut behind Jackson he said, "You forget she was my ship all those years you were at Starbase 252. I know what she's capable of."
"You would never allow me to forget that. And it was years I spent raising our son... alone." She refereed to their son Ensign Jackson Archer (Jadan Smith) newly assigned to USS Enterprise.
"The war with the Romulans is to blame, not me."
"I wasn't blaming you, Way." A nickname she gave him in their early years because Wayne Archer always figured out a way... a credit to his great grandfather Jonathan Archer.
The scene was of the dreadnought USS Goliad commanded by full Captain Jada Jackson under attack by two Klingon marauders in disputed space over planet Epsilon Indi 12.
